kroger $1 doubles!!! ONE DAY ONLY, 8/15

It was MADNESS I tell ya, just quite insane. I heard the $1 doubles would be starting at midnight, so I rounded up my Qs and headed out at 10 pm so I'd have enough time to shop. By 11:30, I was the first in line to checkout at 12:20 AM. There were probably more than 30 shoppers all with cartfuls of items. I'm sure that poor checker will be there well past 3 AM! Here's what I got:

22 Skintimate $1.99 - $1Qdb = FREE
22 Oxy $1.99 - $1Qdb = FREE
8 Bic Cristal pens $1 -$1/2Qdb = FREE
9 Uncle Ben's Rice $1.89 -$1winetagdb = FREE

3 Cinnabon Kelloggs bars $1.99 - $1IPQdb= FREE
1 Grands Tortilla chips  $2 - $1Qdb = FREE
1 Hot Shot $1.99 - $1Qdb = FREE
1 Capri sun $1.99 - $1Qdb = FREE
1 Ritz $2.75 - $1Qdb = $.75
1 Wheat thins $3.79 - FREE wyb ritz Q
2 Glade Gel $1.99 - b1g1 = $1.99 (get $2 in cats)
2 sour patch $1 each
1 Odwalla $2 - $1 Qdb= FREE

Total OOP = $5.03 and got $2 in cats!!

kroger 8/15 $1 doubles freebies

When I went back later, the CPK pizzas were just $1.49 each after Q, and the Suave were $.09 each. All the rest of the items below were FREE! I had a great time getting all these goodies!

    How did you find out about it?

    Was this advertised?

    I never heard anything about my local Kroger doing $1 doubles (Southern Virginia).

    TX and LA stores did it as advertised for one day only. I have never seen it happen before either, so be on the lookout in your area!

    I was behind Stefani in line at Kroger Friday night and all i have to say is this woman is amazing at coupons and knows how to get 22 transactions and spend only a couple of bucks!!! I'm a newbie at this so this was a great learning experience and i look forward to scoring other freebies in the future!

    I'm very new to this and I just wondered --what do you DO with all of these great purchases? Do you donate it to charity or save it for later (I'm guessing some products, like the Oxy, would expire before you could use them)? I really admire your saviness and would love to find such deals! I'll be watching for your posts.

    what i do with it, depends on the product. if it keeps over time, i keep it. if its food, its usually donated to family or friends because i can't eat it all!
